We are in the fight together
In 1997, only at the age of 36, while sitting at work, I discovered a lump in my breast that turned out to be cancer. I was surprised because I was active and did all the right things to stay healthy, however, cancer has no respect of person, and it does not discriminate. After beating cancer, the first time, I thought that I was free from having to go down this road again, but two years later in 1999 the cancer returned. My second bout with cancer made me look at life a little differently, in moving forward, and how I would embrace the challenge. I turned my adversity into an opportunity to help others who are affected by breast cancer. I created Hopkins Breast Cancer Inc., a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to providing financial assistance to men and diagnosed with breast cancer. Together I believe with all of us working together can impact the cancer community.
