With Community Teamwork – There Was a Good Ending

A client who had been under treatment for cancer came to CCAP/Loaves & Fishes for assistance. She was running out of money and soon could lose her home and not be able to pay her bills. A volunteer gave her food and advised her to contact WV211. She reached out and was connected with partnering agencies to assist her. She recently was told her cancer was in remission and she plans to be able to start work in a couple of months. If it had not been for all the agencies working together, she would not have been able to get the help that she needed. Per a January 2021 survey from Bankrate, fewer than 4 in 10 Americans could pay a surprise $1,000 bill from savings.
