Supporting Our Military

Tuxedo Cat Owner in Uniform

San Diego is known as “Fightertown USA” and over at SNAP, we fully support all branches of the military, by providing free spay-neuter services through the MIL-SNAP program for pets of working-class E-1 to E-6 and veterans. Our full scope of support includes offering a range of volunteer opportunities, employing military spouses when the other is deployed to defend our country, participate in Bark in the Park and Woof Walk military events, and assist veteran pet owners in accessing voucher and pledge programs. Our biggest accomplishment has been our ongoing partnership with the San Diego Chapter of Dogs on Deployment, to ensure that all pets are altered to qualify for reputable foster homes prior to deployment. Their peace of mind knowing that pets are safe and sound in foster care, allows them to concentrate on their important jobs of protecting us all. We wish to recognize Rich Setzer for pulling the MIL-SNAP program together and remember him fondly for the contributions that he made as a member of the U.S. Navy and for the many lives that he touched. To the servicemen and women of CFC, we salute you and thank you for your sacrifices.
