Little Brother Lucas and Big Couple Amber and Brock are a shining example of the impact mentor relationships have. Occasionally we match a child with a married couple who want to mentor together. Brock and Amber were matched with Lucas in 2011 when he was only 7 years old! As a single mother, Lucas' mom enrolled him as a Little because she wanted Lucas to feel more fulfilled by having a positive male role model in his life.

In the 10 years since their initial match, Lucas and his mom quickly became like family to Brock and Amber, and vice versa. Amber describes the change she has seen in Lucas over the years "When we were first matched with Lucas, we didn't have kids. Now, our little girls see him as a true "Big Brother". It has been amazing watching him grow into a man and learn responsibility."

Since being matched, a lot has changed in their lives, but one thing has remained constant: the importance of their mentoring relationship. "Amber and Brock have changed my life for the better by helping me feel like I'm part of theirs," says Lucas, "I love having their girls as my little sisters and want to be a good influence for them like my Bigs have been for me."
