High School Leadership Workshop

On October 16, 2006, Tina Meier’s life took a devastating turn when her 13-year-old daughter, Megan Taylor Meier took
her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor who created a fictitious MySpace account posing as a 16-yearold boy named Josh Evans.
In December of 2007, Tina Meier founded the Megan Meier Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to support
and inspire actions to end bullying, cyberbullying, and suicide. Since its inception, MMF has grown into a global bullying
and cyberbullying prevention foundation. We believe that through empowering our society to celebrate individuality and
the acceptance of others, that we can work together to make a difference and create a safer and kinder world.

Over 5 million teens are impacted by issues of bullying and cyberbullying every year. Students, parents, and educators
have grown increasingly concerned and struggle to find the appropriate solution to these problems. In response to these
relevant and destructive social issues, the Megan Meier Foundation developed a Leadership Workshop designed to
spread awareness, educate, and empower youth to be leaders against bullying within their own schools and communities.
The Megan Meier Foundation has led 20 Leadership Workshops since 2011 serving over 131,000 middle school and high
school students and school officials.
