Electrifying everything and powering it with clean energy

Earthjustice recently procured a commitment from the Port of Oakland to electrify its equipment and vehicles.

Working with community, conservation, health, labor, and clean-tech business groups, Earthjustice’s Right to Zero campaign continues the transformation of California into a zero-emissions state. We’ve helped secure rules mandating that all transit buses be electric by 2040 and that shuttle fleets at the state’s 13 largest airports transition to 100% zero emissions by 2035. We have worked to force a statewide zero-emissions mandate for trucks, which was passed in June of 2020, and continue to engage in California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) proceedings to spur significant electrification infrastructure investment. A large part of Earthjustice’s transport focus remains on ports, railyards, and freight equipment. To that end, we recently procured a commitment from the Port of Oakland to electrify its equipment and vehicles.
