What cause are you passionate about and why is it important? How can giving through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) help support nonprofits working in this area? Share your story to inspire others in the federal community to give to their own causes!

Feds have been changing the world together through the CFC for 60 YEARS! In that time, more than $8.5 billion has been raised to support the important work of local, national, and international charities. Submit your responses to the questions below along with a selfie to help us continue this tradition.

Your selfie will display best if taken in landscape mode (i.e., hold your phone horizontally instead of vertically). No specific charity name, logo, or reference may appear in the image. Submissions must comply with the OPM Social Media Policy (https://www.opm.gov/news/social-media-presence/social-media-policy.pdf (Section 7.8.).

TIP: Save your photo file as your name so it can be easily referenced.

Want more tips for a great selfie?
  1. Hold your phone horizontally, not vertically.
  2. Position your phone at eye level or slightly above your head.
  3. Get close to the camera.
  4. Make a fun gesture: thumbs up, hands over heart, arms crossed.
  5. Include your family members or pets. 
  6. Give a BIG smile or BIG laugh.
  7. Look directly into the camera lens.
  8. Make sure you face your lighting source (if it is behind you, you will be in shadow). 
  9. We are trying to highlight all federal agencies, so if you normally wear a uniform (military, USPS, CBP, TSA, etc.), feel free to show it in your selfie (if allowed!).

OPM Consent Form
I hereby agree to waive compensation and authorize video, photo(s), and/or voice recording(s) to be used for informational, educational, and or public relations purposes both within the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and by the general public. All OPM-prepared video, photo(s), and or voice recording(s) are works of the U.S. Government and are not subject to U.S. copyright protection. 
  1. Photos taken at work (i.e. within the scope of duty) are not subject to copyright and shall be approved by the Government supervisor before submission. 
  2. For “selfies” taken at home or other location by a government employee, the photographer and the subject or subjects waive copyright and consent to government use of the image for approved purposes listed above. Submissions must comply with the OPM Social Media Policy (https://www.opm.gov/news/social-media-presence/social-media-policy.pdf (Section 7.8.). This includes the privacy protections and standards including that there may be no inappropriate language or commercial slogans in the Selfies or other submissions.
  3. The product will be shown on various OPM websites and social media pages such as Facebook (www.facebook.com/USOPM),  YouTube (www.youtube.com/USOPM), and Twitter (www.twitter.com/USOPM)
I and the other subjects in the photo understand the video, photo(s), and/or voice may appear online as soon as 30 minutes after the taping, and will remain online indefinitely and may subsequently appear in OPM publications or other non- OPM publications that OPM deems appropriate that help to promote or publicize the event or purpose that the video, photo(s), and/or voice recording was prepared.

I understand that OPM reserves the right to decline to use any submission or may slightly alter a submission for use to comply with the Social Media Policy or for any other reason.

I authorize disclosure and release of the video, photo(s), and/or voice recording to OPM.

I have read and understood the foregoing and I consent to the use of my video, photo(s), and/or voice recording as specified for the above-described purpose(s) or that of my custodian. I further understand that no royalty, fee, or other compensation of any character shall become payable to me or my custodian by OPM for such use. I understand that consent to use mine or that of my custodian’s video, photo(s), and/or voice recording is voluntary.   

I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including a written or electronic copy, wherein mine or that of my custodian’s video likeness appears.

I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge OPM from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate or that of my custodian have or may have because of this authorization.
I am at least 18 years of age, and or the legal guardian/custodian, and I am competent to contract in my name or the name of my child and I have read this release before signing below and I fully understand the contents, meaning, and impact of this release.
