Your Support Makes a Lifesaving Difference
As Chicagoland’s largest No Kill shelter, and one of the largest in the nation, PAWS has helped to reduce the number of homeless pets killed in the city by more than 87 percent since our founding in 1997. By promoting adoption, fostering, and spay/neuter, PAWS is working to build a No Kill community where all pets are given a second chance.
Our ongoing success is a result of our commitment to our grounding principle of community engagement. It is only by raising awareness of pet homelessness and engaging people in these efforts that we can make lasting change and create a No Kill community.
• In 2018 PAWS was able to:
Complete 5,591 adoptions
Perform 16,750 spay/neuter surgeries
Achieve a 98.12 percent save rate
All because of the help of thousands of volunteers who donated over 143,000 hours of service
