STEM Learning Continues, Thanks to CFC!

Our cause is education, and during these unprecedented times, our mission to engage, educate, and employ New Mexico students in STEM has never been more important. As the COVID-19 pandemic has magnified the digital divide in New Mexico and deepened the opportunity gap for marginalized children, support from generous federal employees giving through the CFC has enabled our organization to meet the emerging needs of our community.

Together, we have provided vital education in science, technology, engineering, and math to thousands of children throughout our state. Over the past year, Explora has engaged 11,804 children and 5,023 adults in virtual and in-person STEM programs, including field trips and professional development for educators. We have provided 805 programs, 1,024 camps and semester-long programs, and distributed over 10,000 STEAM Learning Kits, which engage students in hands-on STEAM without need for a computer or internet connection. Most recently, over the summer we've offered socially distanced and safe in-person science camps for K-12 students (see photo), keeping young minds active and helping to stop the summer slide. Thank you, federal employees, for making it all possible!
