World Wild Web, Wild America: Passport Series

Six-session Zoom series for Tucson youth participants

The Wilderness Society (TWS) successfully worked with local partner Ironwood Tree Experience [ITE] to deliver youth conservation programming and give Tucson youth a voice. In 2020 when COVID eliminated the opportunity for in-person on-trail programming, TWS and ITE hastily arranged a six-session Zoom-based “World Wild Web, Wild America: Passport Series” which introduced the cultural and natural history of other regions where TWS works to the Tucson youth participants. TWS staff in Alaska, Washington state, Montana, Maine, and North Carolina participated; the last session was the ITE youth presenting to TWS staff on the Sonoran Desert.
