Life is a gift. Sadly, for many in our community, life can quickly feel like less of a gift and more of a burden.
United Way of Central Oklahoma works with a wide network of local Partner Agencies to develop programs and solutions for our community’s most difficult health and human service challenges.
Thanks to a Wayfinder Innovation Grant from United Way, a Partner Agency recently implemented a Street Outreach Team to aid our community’s homeless population. Whether it’s providing a sack lunch, basic medical needs or just a conversation, the mobile team is able to build relationships with some of our most vulnerable neighbors and help them seek a better life.
The team connects individuals facing homelessness with many other United Way programs to help them obtain basic needs, medical care, housing and a path to becoming self-sufficient.
