Moving Forward with Hope

Meet Kianna and her son

Every 154 minutes, a South Carolina teen gives birth. Less than 50% will finish high school, increasing the likelihood of living in poverty and having unstable housing. Our mission is to provide hope, safety, and opportunity to young women to instill self-worth and self-sufficiency. We value the right of every young woman to obtain the education, skills, and support needed to have a healthy start in life – for today and tomorrow. That’s why we provide programming to help pregnant and at-risk girls gain the skills they need to become independent. That’s why we love sharing Kianna’s story.

“I was in a position where I knew I needed help and a slight push in the right direction that my family was unable to give me. I am forever grateful for the financial guidance, housing, and mentoring assistance they provided for my baby and I. Now, I am not only a successful (success=happiness) single mother, but I am living my dream. Every year, there are little things that make me look back at where I was the prior year and I see so much progress. I'm not where I want to be, but I'm in a better position than I was last year and I am so grateful for that. If we treat our lives like a staircase, moving from step to step in a higher direction every year, there's no way we can go wrong. Let us continue to be a blessing to one another, remain humble, and stay grateful for even the little things."
