Leah is beautiful, inside and out

Leah had serious eye problems

We do our best to help other shelters when they are overcrowded and the lives of their animals are in danger. This is especially true when there are medical issues involved and immediate care is needed.

This was the case with Leah, a seven-year-old mixed breed dog, transferred from another local shelter. Her eyes were in desperate need of double entropion surgery. This type of surgery is necessary when the outer eyelids turn inward, causing great discomfort and possible blindness if left untreated.

Leah recovered in a loving foster home and came back to the shelter to wait for her new family. Months went by and no one was interested in an older dog who would need eye medicine for the rest of her life. Finally, after six long months, a family came in and saw the inner beauty that Leah radiated. They fell in love immediately and knew she was the one for them.

Leah is living the high life! She gets regular pedicures, spa days, endless toys, and best of all, the love and care she deserves. It sounds like a dream come true for this princess.

Only with your help will Leah and the other shelter animals continue to get the medical care and love they deserve to live a long, happy and healthy life.
